I grew up in Sacramento in a family that enjoyed camping, fishing, and the outdoors. I was fortunate to come of age at the same time as the environmental movement, which has greatly influenced my values.

After two years at American River College, I went on to earn a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz. While there, I studied with Alan Gussow, a visiting professor; he was inspirational and influenced my direction in contemporary landscape art.

After graduating, I worked as a designer and master craftsman for a decade at Bonny Doon Art Glass, a nationally-acclaimed studio. I went on to form a specialty painting business, and completed numerous commissions. During these years up through the present, I continued my studio work, participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in California and beyond, and won several awards. My work is in private and public collections including the Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula, Plantronics Inc., and Cisco Systems. I recently completed a year-long commission: a 4.5’ x 19’ painting for the Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital, Stanford Hospital. It was installed in Spring 2017. I find it extremely gratifying to create artwork that inspires and rejuvenates the spirit, much like being in nature.
